Tray Dryers and Fluid Bed Dryers For Pharmaceutical and Chemical Industries

Most of the pharmaceutical and chemical industries use two types of dryers; these are fluid dryers and tray dryers. Fluid dryers are used to dry granular or crystalline materials while tray dryers are used to dry chemical powders most of the times.

Today, industrial dryers are used by most of the workshops either it is chemical, or pharmaceutical sector. Each dryer has its own usage and benefits. Different dryers can be used by different industries to dry chemical powders, food processors or Pharmacy ingredients etc. The size or capacity of dryers may vary from application to application. In this blog, we will discuss two major types of dryers that are considered versatile tool for industries.

First is fluid dryer to cool, granulate or coat the particular materials. It can be used by both either heat sensitive or non heat sensitive materials. The dryers should have uniform distribution of heat to control materials properly. For fluid dryers, heat is supplied through fluoridation gas to treat the materials well..

The materials that are heated through fluid dryers should have particle size between 50 to 5000 microns. Further, elongated particles and light powders may require vibration for successful drying of fluid bed. The dryers may require gas conditioning to achieve required cooling of the product in decided time frame and to pick up the volatiles.

There is also need to remove extra heat immersed in fluidized layer. These types of dryers are normally treated better as compared to other industrial dryers available in market. Materials fluidized by fluid dryers are easy to transport and it can be handled comfortably with high rate of exchanges and maximum thermal efficiency.

Another popular category is tray dryers that are used to dry multiple flat trays together. According to tray dryers manufacturers, these products are largely suitable for chemical, pharmaceutical and food industries. The product may have one or double doors with double walled cabinets. The trays used inside are made up of stainless steel and doors are provided to avoid air leakages.

The tray dryers manufacturers design product in such way that trays can fit properly and materials will be loaded evenly for proper drying simultaneously. This is always better to use tray dryers under controlled temperature conditions only. TO know more on industrial dryers and to get detailed information on dryers use, it is always better to contact leading manufacturers or suppliers only.
